Tomorrow ends the second week of classes. I feel like I've been here for approximately two months already, but it's all good. I would rather it be this way than feeling like the semester is speeding by.

Tonight I hung out with Kelly, Anne Starling (whom I didn't know was in Durham), Marina, Eddie, Kyle, Ian, and Sarah at various points. First was sitar, which was fabulous and worth waiting all day for. Then I ended a sentence with a preposition. After that we hung around Decker for a couple of hours talking, attempting yoga, and learning about osteology and Sarah's fun class. She is taking a class called The Future. Right off that sounds like the coolest class ever, and it apparently is so. I also talked to Caroline online, and she's arriving tomorrow afternoon! Woo! I hope I don't try to monopolize her too much; but after all, it will be my last time seeing her for a while. Finally, we went to The Loop and sat six in a booth.

When I returned, I finished my PPS reading which was supposed to be done by 5.25 this afternoon, but I still felt accomplished at finishing eventually. Then I decided to clean and rearrange my room, and I'm really pleased with the results. The only rearranging entailed turning my desk 90 degrees, but I like it ... it will allow me maximum space in my fun corner, and the chair hole in the desk can now serve as a tunnel between my fun corner and under the bed! YAY! Once I've bought hooks (or something to mount my shelves), a black printer cartridge, more posters, and perhaps some tapestries, I will be able to properly decorate my room! For right now, it's at least really clean, and more spacious.

I continue to think about what this year will be like. Classes have been quite a struggle, but I am keeping up with the work, so as long as that continues to be the case, they'll be good classes and not anything to worry about. On the friends side, I'm realizing that I'm not as prepared to spend the year without Caroline and Stephen and Weiting as I thought I was ... Stephen left for Germany yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. The fact that he's really spending the next year in Germany didn't seem real when he was in Virginia, so the fact has hit me really hard yesterday and today. And Caroline and Weiting are next on the trek to Europe. That freaks me out, but at least they will be back next year.

I am almost always hungry. My appetite and metabolism are ridiculous, I've decided, but at least I'm not eating constantly. I'm generally eating two meals and a random snack per day, so that's working out okay; I just wish I could not feel hungry for an extended period of time, because it's annoying.

In any case, things will be fine because Kelly, Eddie, Alexis, Ian, Marina, Sarah, and everyone else around here rock. And tomorrow The Sames, Laramie UK, and Witchcraft by a Picture will play on the quad, followed by parties. And next week Kelly and I (and hopefully a guest) are going to Charleston, so things are looking up.
