Ha, who would've thought that I'd be constantly and diligently doing my work? But I am ... woo. I'm hella tired at the moment, but everything is getting done with timeliness. If that's a word.

So today I woke up at 9:30, which was about four hours later than I'd intended, but the sleep was worth it, much better than trying to write my paper. I met with John Jackson, who seems to have forgotten a) that he'd asked our entire class to meet with him in lieu of turning in a second draft of our final paper, and b) that we'd scheduled to meet this morning. So we ended up talking in his doorway as a grad student watched a movie in his office. Hahaha. Then I went to class, had lunch with Weiting and Caroline, then only spent an hour preparing for my Culanth presentation on smoking that I ought to have done a bit better on. It still came out okay, because it was limited to five minutes, but I could've been smoother with proper preparation.

I was surprised at how good a few of the other presentations were in the class. The ones on the dating scene, the gay community, and what people do on the quad were kind of boring and didn't present anything new, but a couple others were notable. Alex, the crazy-ass KA, studied how and whether students interact with the employees at Chick-fil-a, which ones do, and why ... although it sounded kinda dumb in the beginning, it applied a lot to me, so it was good to hear it. Also, Laura (I think? I'm still learning classmate names at the end of the semester) talked about the publications sent to p-frosh and whether they're really relevant to what Duke is actually like ... cheers for an awesome research topic!

It was also funny that there were actual p-frosh and a parent sitting in on the class, so they got to hear some of how Duke actually is, even the gritty details like the hook-up culture, the smoking ban that no one obeys, etc. Wee.

I also went to the last house course of the semester. We watched But I'm A Cheerleader, in keeping with our do-very-little theme, haha. That movie is so fucking awesome, yay! (See quote below) Plus Michael is just hot. No question about that.

Stephen, Caroline, and I had Bread and Kablob for dinner (it was really good, esp. since I hadn't eaten there in months), then ran away to Francesca's for a long time to eat sorbetto, gelatto, and cake and have another random conversation about sex ... it all helped me to not lose my mind with all the stress of writing papers and wondering if I'll be crushingly lonely after the semester ends and most of my friends will be away.

Since, I've been working on my paper ... and, as it is 5.00 a.m., I am happy to report that I've made lots of progress by not sleeping. I wrote 5 pages, so I'm up to 17 or 18 now, I forget which, but that's still pretty damn good, right? Time to pick the last two cases and read one before a nap that will serve as my night's sleep ... gah.

Quote of the Day:
"I just want a big fat wiener!"
"Amen, sista."
--But I'm A Cheerleader is such an awesome movie! And Rufio from "Hook" is in it ... and he wears rainbow pajamas!! HAHA
