"Just think like your mother would."

Random unconnected topics:

LJ offered me via popup the chance to try the new post editor and I politely ex-ed out of the window. I will be dragged into it when there is no longer an option, thank you very much.

Looks like everyone in the Northwest is having a miserable time with all this forest fire smoke. Stay strong, y'all! For all that I miss about the West, I am completely fine not having to deal with this.

Not a lot going on this weekend. Last night B and I were at Sheena's bar at DC9 for a short time, then Blake came along to share the details of his dramatic dinner. He and I then went to Uproar which was pretty intense and crowded. The staff also all ran outside at the same time and we had no clue why, but it was to haul in a literal truckload of ice that had just arrived. Ice machine on the fritz during a busy weekend night = bad news! Anyway, it was perfectly fun despite the crowds, much of the music I chose actually got played, and then I picked up late-night falafel on the way home. Why did I opt for McDonald's so many times on 17th Street when this delight was always around? :)

This of course is Amanda's wedding weekend in LA, so a bummer that I was not able to go. I tend to think wedding hashtags are corny and annoying, but they turn out to be very convenient to see photos and videos of the festivities from afar when I can't attend.

BTW the quote in the title is from Alton Brown, television's most understated dirty joke teller. He's currently leading someone on how to choose the best cut of meat for pot roast, and it went somewhere dark.

I think I'll just bookmark the URL of the old editor and go directly there to update, until that's taken away.
