If Black Pride, Rolling Thunder, and the UHP parade collide, will DC be a transportation disaster?

Yes, basically.

I'm in the midst of four badly needed days at home, to catch up on life. I finally after a month took my old suitcase down to the trash, and gathered my expense report for NY including uploading receipts. And last night I picked back up my current book, with a goal to finish by Monday evening so I can put further dents in my reading list. Let's see how much LJ catching up I can do while I continue to be home all this long weekend, yeah?

Friday night Stuart and I decided against our collective better judgment to watch that evening's Drag Race episode at a bar. Number Nine was insanely crowded, so it was not as fun as it could have been, but we survived because Drew was very nice and the vibe was at least friendly. Then we met Wes at a blissfully quiet Trade and talked about his/Kenny's decision to buy a house in Virginia. A much better commute for Kenny + space for pets + not having to deal with rapidly aging kitchen appliances. Still a bit sad not to have them in the building anymore, though. From there we walked up to DC9 and put as much Carly Rae Jepsen in the jukebox as we could find, then said hi to anyone that we knew at Nellie's (basically just Katrina in the DJ booth) before I took a cab home.

On Saturday I went out for a run, with a couple of detours to watch the United House of Prayer Memorial Day Parade. It is quite a spectacle every year, and this time I counted five different marching bands in the brief time I ran alongside the route. Aside from that we've just been doing long-needed things around the house, reading, and eating lasagna. I only left the house today to feed Andrew's pets and grab a few things from CVS.

And I think I'm going to do backdated entries for my trip to CT and NY, but as far as I can tell they will still appear in your friends list as current. So look out for 2-3 of those!
