I love me a good 512-ounce soda.

If my doctor is reading this, most of it was ice. I swear.
We have been quite distracted with our own silly election stateside, but I have spent some of the last few days reading about London's mayoral election. It certainly feels hopeful that Londoners elected Sadiq Khan, a Labour dude from a working-class Pakistani immigrant family and rejected the idiotic attempts of the Tories to incite race-based fear to boost their own candidate. So, good work, London. But the fact his opponent got as far as he did with that shady campaign is not great, either. And let me assure you, I really don't want to talk about the US presidential election. :)
Other topics! I started to feel sick on Wednesday, mostly a sore throat and headache. By Thursday I really should have stayed home but insisted like an American workaholic that I needed to knock out a bunch of tasks. So I quarantined myself in a phone room with a box of Kleenex, finished my scheduled calls, and left at 4:15. With luck I didn't actually spread horrid germs to everyone in the office. I also stayed home Friday, which was a very good move. The office won't burn down due to my short absence.
On a whim, and because I was feeling somewhat recovered from the crud, we went to an 11:15 showing of Captain America: Civil War last night. This was primarily because the next break in B's work schedule wouldn't allow him to see it until next week, by which point his nerdy friends would be dangling spoilers in front of him. :) He bribed me with a giant soda and Reese's Pieces. I did enjoy it, and will say little so I don't spoil it. But I can't resist saying that the casting for new characters in the universe felt strange.
That's it! Tomorrow we have Serg's birthday BBQ, which has an uncharacteristically early noon start. So later we need to go to the grocery store for mac and cheese ingredients.
