"Ugh! The foul stench of youth."

I'll cower in my dim living room, thanks.

The Super Bowl was not very special. The Broncos won, and the commercials were kind of crappy. Except for the one where Seal appeared to be selling Don't Use Birth Control Tonight. That was actually amusing. The halftime show was legit; Beyonce dancing in heels on turf is yet another ridiculous thing she can do perfectly.

Work today was ... trying. We're going after a lot of new contracts, which is kind of exciting, but they haven't been awarded yet (and who knows which if any we will get). So in the meantime, I'm stuck dealing with our Big Federal Agency that is having a slow-motion freakout on us. They seem to have interpreted our telling them a larger budget is needed to achieve what they want as "you refused the assignment." Jerks.

At least Andrew was on GChat all day and I got to hear about the King Cake Follies in his office. Also, I remembered that Moe's sells $5 burritos on Mondays! Very good choice, especially because their burritos tend to be reasonably sized instead of the wrestler thighs that other places churn out and challenge me to eat in one sitting.

After work I took this random aptitude test that featured those bizarre old logic questions. They got continuously more ridiculous as the thing went on. We were practically at "If Jenny drinks three tequilas before Jonny gets to the bar but Bartender Bonnie serves larger drinks to Lonnie, how wasted does Jonny need to be to have a threesome with Lonnie and Jenny?"

Then I went to the grocery store. Harris Teeter has had some problems recently. Tonight they featured typed signs and loudspeaker announcements that they couldn't accept debit cards as payment. There were also a lot of young gay couples shopping, so I think Bloomingdale might be the next Shaw? Hard to keep up. The bonus was that the Harry the Happy Dragon has been restocked with free, only-slightly-stale cookies!

It was definitely not their shining moment.

I'm good with watching a few games a year, but without a team I like it's mainly an excuse to eat nachos. :)
