Almost time to use our brining bucket!

I promise we wash it every November.

Up until late last week, we had no clue what we were actually doing for Thanksgiving. But over the weekend Brian decided he did want to cook, helped by the fact that he'll be off work Thursday and Friday (on Wednesday he only works in the afternoon, most of which is meetings). So we determined who to invite and it all came together rather quickly. Elliott, Stu, Kevin, Patrick, and Jason will be coming over. We are providing all of the main courses and sides, except Stu's green bean casserole, and the guests are bringing all drinks and desserts. I'm glad of the way that turned out, actually, because I have done the no-plans-at-all Thanksgiving Day and I suspect I'd find it quite dull this year.

I also don't get to see most of those folks all that much anymore, other than at Sara's bar, so I'm anticipating spending the day with them, crammed into our little apartment. :) In advance I need to vacuum, dust, and clean the bathroom. Such joy. Anyhow, that means I do my 5K on Thursday morning, then scoot back home to defrost (temps expected in the high 30s that morning) and help B cook. I'm also plant sitting for Blake's fern while he is in NC, meaning I'd better get my arse over there tomorrow after work lest it die under my (lack of) care.

Work wasn't great today, but not for any new reason. So at the least I know there are only 1.5 more days of nonsense left. Then I get the long weekend of running, cooking, eating, and being with people I enjoy. Anticipation is a lovely drug.

Thanks! The guest list has grown again since yesterday, but I'm sure it will be a great time.
