Are CBS dramas that bad?

The weekend flew by. On Saturday morning I ran around doing errands: got cash, bought various stuff at CVS, and topped up my Metro card at McPherson Square. I also picked up a toasted graham latte because I am weak. Soy, at least; I've probably ingested enough dairy for a lifetime already. Then I spent almost four hours watching the excruciatingly long Michigan-MSU game, where flags were flying like there was no tomorrow. It was just about to be a great win, only for the Wolverines to lose it at the last second. Don't do sports, kids. My neighbors probably thought I was being stabbed based on my disappointed grunting.

In the evening I met David J. at Nellie's and we squeezed our way in to the downstairs bar between a billion LSU fans, and Melisa and Lajuan eventually joined us. Hilariously there was a slow drip leaking from the ceiling, so every single person that passed by amused us by offering one or another expletive. :)

Eventually we moved over to DC9 for Peach Pit. And though it was billed as a Janet-themed night, the DJ played exactly two Janet songs between 12:15 and 2:00. I ought to threaten to fill out a complaint card. Actually it was still lovely, and we danced our faces off, and saw Mario, Cezanne, Nealon, Joe G./ascendant (you still reading this, sir? Hope so :)), and Adam running around.

On Sunday Brian was feeling sick, so he camped out on the couch and I kept a low profile as he attempted to sleep it off. I at least got bills paid, ate leftover Chinese food, and had a lovely nap.

Work today was pretty productive, and my arrival was an almost unheard of 9:05. I prepped some documents for a 9:30 meeting that my boss was having, then got pulled into that meeting anyway. Lunch was from a Greek food truck, and I actually sat with people at our lunch tables and chatted for a while. Despite how busy I've been all year, it's a good idea to take a break from my screen and desk every day. This was a discovery I made when I cleaned my keyboard with compressed air and a frightening amount of lunch crumbs came flying out.

I also had a good if short workout at the gym, then came home and set about all the domestic items neglected over the weekend. B is back at work, so at least all the noise I chose to make was acceptable. Dinner was pasta tossed with parm, olive oil, red peppers, with shrimp and whatever white fish we had in the freezer over the top. There is still a metric assload leftover; that got packed up, I unloaded the dishwasher, and reloaded with dirty. And I've done two loads of laundry. Somehow I set a series recording for Madam Secretary and promptly forgot about it, so my intent was to fold while catching up. Turns out the first two episodes have been deleted off my DVR, and when I put on Episode 3 the first half of the hour was a 60 Minutes. Football strikes again. Originally I was bummed, but the atrocious fake Russian accents in the half hour still available had me reconsider. You try hard, CBS primetime. :)

now, if your neighbours can hear you groaning over a football game, imagine what else they can hear. ;)

The bedroom doesn't share any walls with other apartments, I promise!
