Stuck with multifunction copier/printer/scanners forever

We just got two brand new paper spitters in the office.

I was hoping technology would have progressed beyond these horrid machines by 2015.

Out of idle curiosity, I browsed through some of the emails that Jeb Bush released from his time as governor. I don't think that the act of publishing them online will really make a difference in his nascent presidential campaign; those that already liked him will tout the benefits of the gesture and their contents, and those that didn't will do the opposite.

All I will say is that many of the topics that he and his then-staff appeared to obsess about so much are far from what I would consider priorities. There was much talk in early 2003 about the silly color-coded terror alerts from the then-new Department of Homeland Security, as well as many emails ending with a statement that the sender would pray for the governor and his family. Clearly I didn't grow up among evangelicals, but putting such things in business correspondence feels strange.

It may be just the impression I get, but religion seems to be a bigger deal in the US than over here?

It is a big deal indeed, but I wish that there was less of it in our public offices. Separation of church and state is supposed to be the rule of law here. But with so many pols like Jeb Bush that run on morality and equate that with being a good Christian, this is what we end up with.
