But I lose basic possessions on the regular.
I'm in the process of doing my taxes in another tab, which is not super thrilling. But at least they're quite straightforward; welcome to not being a homeowner, married, or owner of much in the way of investments. :) I believe last year was the earliest I ever filed, February 2. But I'll take February 4 as a good second place.
Work had another small period of nuttiness that made me anxious and tense. After a Monday filled with new tasks and subtasks being piled on to my plate, I worked 11 hours on Tuesday just to get the worst of it behind me. It worked as designed, at least. Today saw many more loose ends tied up, and I even made it to the gym for the first time since before I got sick. Tiny victories all around.
The only lame part of today was that I arrived at the office this morning and my badge wasn't in my coat pocket. It had definitely been in there when I got on the bus <30 minutes prior, so I was convinced I'd dropped it while on the way to or from getting coffee. Rather than try to retrace my steps through busy sidewalks for something I figured was almost certainly gone anyway, I turned around and went straight to the property manager's office, which is a block from our building. When I walked in the whole staff appeared to be in a meeting, but the front desk guy* popped out when he saw someone at the counter and printed me a new badge within minutes. Less than two hours later, I discovered that my coat pocket had recently developed a hole and Original Badge had slipped into the lining of the coat. So now I have two?
Update: tax returns completed. I'm getting about $50 more from DC in refund than last year, and the federal refund will again go toward my remaining 2012 tax owed. Depending on how much interest had accrued on that balance in the last few months, I should actually have that completely paid off and not have to deal with monthly contributions to the IRS anymore. Winning all around!
* He's reeeeeeeally attractive, almost to the point where I feel I should invent reasons to have to go back to that office.

But in the current setup it's merely annoying as I've come to know the front desk folks and they will wave me in if needed. Then the next challenge is ringing the bell in our office suite until someone takes pity and comes to let me in. :)

Hopefully work has de-nutted itself.
I am all for making up silly reasons to see a handsome fella. ;) Probably good to have a spare one anyway, JUST in case. You never know.
