Last call for holiday cards.

I may insert free calories in each one, if that entices you further.

In case you missed my post from two weeks ago, I'm happily sending holiday cards to any and all Livejournalers that would like one. If that describes you, leave a comment on that post with your mailing address (it will be screened so only I see it). If you already posted there, I've got you on the list and will start mailing cards probably by Friday.

In other holiday tradition news, today we had a work lunch with our department and our sister department at Similar Firm at Firefly. The food was pretty damn good and we got to hear about our coworkers' desperate attempts to get their kids interested in college prep. Also, there was a surprising amount of NFL talk, through which I nodded politely and ate fries. Anyhow, it broke up the day nicely such that it didn't feel like I'd been at the office forever even when I was there until 6:30. Our office-wide holiday party is next Wednesday at the hotel next door; I'm wondering from hearing stories (from friends and around the internet) if this employer is the type that offers year-end bonuses or gives something gimmicky to every employee, like an iPod. It's doubtful, but I do know that we are being enticed to donate to the United Way campaign with the promise of getting 12/31 as an extra vacation day if enough folks participate. So whatever.

Next I actually need to buy cards and get going on the gift shopping. I have some excellent online leads that I'll try to order in the next couple of days here, and then I'm dragging Brian to the maul over the weekend. Hopefully no one pukes all over Sears this time.

The calories have to be flat and light, so expect either a Fruit Roll-Up or some Triscuits. :D
