It wasn't a good fit, and I'm so glad to be out of there.

Yesterday was my last day at EPA. And as much as I have tried to put a positive spin on the 11ish months I spent there, it was past time to go. So I was not necessarily sad to wrap up my work and pack up my cube. It was actually rather enjoyable, TBH.

New job starts Monday at 9:00 a.m. The commute is going to be pretty epic for the first while, as I'll be working in the Columbia, MD office to start. I took OJ for an oil change and have to wash it too, in preparation for driving out there at least four days a week. Then sometime between January and March, my department will move to the DC office and my commute will shrink to nearly nothing. That'll be truly nice, but for the first few months I'll be content to be not an intern, fellow, contractor, or part-timer, but a regular-rank employee for the first time since July 2009.

Congratulations on the switcheroo! And good luck with that commute for the next few months. Helps to have an end date for it in sight, I'm sure.

Thanks! The new gig is also much more engaging and a better team, so it at least makes the shitty commute worthwhile.
