But I don't mind, because I also came from the 80s.

A recap since Thursday is in order:

On Friday I was up early to get a badly needed haircut, then once done there I refilled the cupboards at Giant and then joined Brian, Ricky and Brett for a late lunch at Annie's as we gossiped and tried to find alternate Facebook profiles of acquaintances that are moving away. Then we spent some time cracking up the bartender with the What Your Favorite 80s Band Says About You list. From there Ricky went back to work, Brian and I got caught in an epic rainstorm while running errands, and finally we ended up back at JR's with Brett to dry out and watch the storm from Joey's bar. Other folks drifted in and out and it was a wonderful lazy afternoon/evening. After a quick stop at DIK Bar we were home early.

Saturday started early as I was awake at 7:45 a.m. Probably 90 minutes of going back to sleep was unsuccessful, so instead I got up and read, then went for a run. Dodging tourist families is getting more challenging by the week. I then showered and met ashfault76 for lunch at Pizzeria Paradiso. Sooper good pizza, and there were adorable toddlers at an adjacent table trying to run off to get more olives. Dave and I talked about upcoming travel and vacations; he has more scheduled than I do. We staggered out of there to take a quick stop at The Leather Rack, then he went back home and I got an iced coffee and did the same.

I decided to cook a proper meal later that evening, so meatballs went in the oven and I cooked up a bunch of pasta and a salad. Pat came over to deliver our new watches* while we were baking garlic bread, then a huge epic dinner happened. It took some recovery time but eventually Chris H. picked us up and we walked over to Nellie's. Chris was uncharacteristically chatty and I think we talked more in that 15 minute walk than we ever had to date. Anyhow, chatting continued as we got big cocktails from Kevin, then I ran into Dave W. and Doug M. upstairs and got significantly detailed updates on their lives. Doug is almost done with med school! Dave moved in with his boyfriend, who is also named Brian! It was a rather exciting conversation, except for the person who dropped a drink right behind us and forced Doug to keep removing glass from his flip flops. We had intended to go next door to Peach Pit after that, but fatigue won out and we headed home instead. I'm a bit sad that I apparently missed so many people there, but we were tired and there was still a line at almost 1:30.

Today has been very lazy. I slept late, Brian vacuumed carpets, we ate leftovers and watched Batman movies on TV. Eventually he went off to do work and I morphed into good-at-life mode. I stocked up on toothpaste and Aleve at CVS, caught up on my internet presence, prepped breakfast and lunch to take with me tomorrow, cleaned up the kitchen. Since that ended I've been reading and relishing the end of the weekend. This will be another busy week of trying to keep my boss afloat plus evening (non-work) meetings, so not sure if there will be updates until next weekend. We'll see.

* We now own slap bracelet watches. Mine is purple and Brian's is black. I LOVE THEM.

So what does your favorite 80s band say about you?

I liked the one about what your favorite classic rock band says about you. Mine says I either run a Liberace museum, am a serial killer, or most likely both.

Bwahahaha, so brilliant. I also thought of you on the Joy Division one, though I doubt you have ever tried to dress a cat in period costume and if you had, I'm confident you have the finesse to keep it from biting you.
