Do I have any moods other than bliss, nostalgia, and mild loathing?

Someone buy me a mood drug to mix things up.

I'm nearing the end of the final exam time crunch, and it's not pretty. I did finish my paper on metro maps yesterday and it came out really well (18 pages total) and I'm proud of it, but none of the rest of my products will quite reach that level. I have 9.5 pages of my semiotics paper done, and they have been particularly painful and difficult to write. I just don't care about this class as much as the others, and I'm having trouble finishing up even though I like the paper topic more than anything we discussed in the course. I'm going to force out one more idea that will fill probably 2 more pages and then call it done; it's not worth obsessing over any more. Also, I have my sustainable urbanism final exam in 12 hours; I'm sure it will go well, but I just need to finish reviewing the stuff he asked us to review and then take the damn thing. Finally, I need to write a 7-page paper for advanced urban theory, and I can do it and liked the readings that the prompt is based on and know what I want to write about, but my energy is really drained by this point.

In the interest of keeping myself sane, I've been taking breaks to read old LJ entries. I do really miss Secret Monday Night Martini Club and the folks attached to it, and how random 85-degree days in late April meant we'd end up at a pool much of the time. I do think that after graduation in April I'm going to head back to Durham for a bit to see everyone. I also miss randomly getting free food in the Franklin Center all the time; how is it that now that I'm a grad student free food is almost non-existent? Lame, U of M, lame.

Anyhow, I'm going to bundle up and head to Zingerman's to reward myself with good coffee and pastries. It is currently 2 degrees outside, but I don't care. Suck it, winter.

1) I like garbage.
2) I really want to study urban planning. What was the focus of your metro map paper?

The paper was actually for an anthropology class on popular culture. I wrote on how maps have been influenced by riders and whether they are designed with them in mind.

I'll post a link to my presentation once I've recorded the audio to go over it.

Are you still planning on going back to D.C.? You said you were going to tell us the D.C. b/f story but never did - nor have you mentioned anything about missing anyone there or anything like that. Not to pry, but is there a reason you've been soooooo quiet about all that as of it never happened?

Good luck with the grades. Did you know I've been tutoring college students this last semester? Any subjects EXCEPT math and science. I need tutoring on those. ha!

Things are swell, and I am planning to go back there. :] He visited Michigan in October: http://silverthief2.livejournal.com/405379.html and then I went there last month, and I'm going there again Sat, and then we're going to FL together to spend Christmas with his family.

I would know these things if you would update your blog. ;) But seriously, that's swell and hope you are enjoying it.

"Swell?" Gee Wally, where's the Beav? LOL

Glad that's still all going well. One post that he visited in Oct. doesn't really fill us in much though. ;-)
