Avoiding football traffic is a science.

Which means I'm good at one kind of science!

Last night Eric, Koben, and I had a party at the house to celebrate all of our birthdays at once (they're all in November), and far more people came than I was expecting. For some of the night I just hung out in the foyer with Erin G., Amanda I., Amanda P., and Jordan because I couldn't actually reach the kitchen without crowd-surfing through the living room. Anyhow, lots of fun. I ended up dancing in a huge hugging scrum of people, including folks that I barely know. I can't decide what was my favorite moment. Currently it's a three way tie between:

  • John D. and Maria R. getting into a dance-off that quickly turned into John full-on voguing around the dining room. There are still scuff marks on the walls.
  • Going into the living room to ask if anyone had a bottle opener, where Isaac snatched the beer out of my hand, put it into his crotch, and popped it open with his belt buckle.
  • Michael V. running off to the party store and returning with his hoodie pockets stuffed with cans of soon-to-be illegal alcoholic energy drinks. So. Ridiculous.

Yeah, so it turns out I'm not too old for this stuff after all. I fortunately didn't drink too much despite the presence of a river of booze, and was up early today cleaning up the house. As soon as the football game kicked off, I ventured out to Subway for lunch, then came back for more cleaning and laundry. I was planning to wait until the evening to return the bottles and cans to Kroger but the game went into overtime and was looking like it'd be a while, so I ventured out. I got $17.10 in proceeds (thanks everyone, for not crushing your empty cans so the scanner can read the bar codes!) and managed to get out of there and up to North Campus with little interference, because the game went into triple overtime before we won! Good football day. Even Duke won against UVA.

Noooow I'm up on North Campus in a TV lounge, working on WordPress entries for work with horse racing on in the background. Who decided to call this thing the Breeders' Cup? That name makes me uncomfortable. Next I have an enormous pile of anthropology reading for Monday, and I should get to the gym at some point too.

Alcoholic energy drinks like Sparks were just made illegal in Michigan, so they'll be off the shelves within 30 days.
