Sunday choreday?

Well, I woke up super late today, around 1:00 p.m., so it has been a chill day. But I did get a good amount of cleaning done. My bedroom is in a good state and I swept up the upstairs hallway, stairs, and living room. The kitchen is also clean, though most of those efforts took place on Friday, when I also installed a shower caddy in my bathroom. Despite all the time I spend away from here, this dump is somehow clean and not falling apart!

The same can't be said for my belongings, though. My car battery is dead, as I discovered last night when trying to drive to ashfault76's Cheesy Movie Night. I'll have to figure out how to get a new one installed soon. Sometime last week at the gym, one of my headphones stopped working, so I went to Best Buy for replacements today. And the DVD drive on my computer hasn't been working for probably a month; I finally made an appointment to see a Genius for Tuesday. The Apple Store is perilously close to Zara.

What else was up this weekend? On Thursday Brian and I went out, ended up drinking more than anticipated and spent the night at his place. In the morning he crawled to work and I came back here, then we spent our time out that night at Apex. I certainly used my last visit there, three years ago, as a benchmark for how much better my life has become since then. Eventually we got out of there, got enormous slices of pizza from a legendary Pizza Land, and ate them while sitting in Dupont Circle. Straight couples were making out in the fountain, leading us to do the same (while staying dry) so as not to get left behind. Intoxicated pizza kisses in Dupont = yet another great thing about this summer.

Brian, Keith, and I had an epic Saturday afternoon brunch at The Front Page: all you can eat buffet and unlimited mimosas for $25. I definitely dipped my chicken wings in country gravy, and also partook heavily in sausage, bacon, eggs, and smoked salmon. Kind of odd that I was crowned a professional brunch eater by the table, but on the other hand it makes perfect sense. From there we awayed to Cobalt and drank some more first while watching Mean Girls downstairs and then while yakking with the bartender upstairs when that opened.

Saturday night ashfault76 had several of us over to watch Elvira for Cheesy Movie Night. Despite getting there really late due to the aforementioned car trouble, it was fun and I'm glad I braved the multiple single-tracking problems to get there. We watched Elvira, and I am really wondering why I'd never seen this movie before, and partook in much pasta salad, deviled eggs, sausage rolls, and wine. I also met geekygabe in person for the first time; hi! I hope that we reconvene for another movie night soon, and the offer still stands for me to host if you all are willing to come in to the District, folks. Also, Dave: we need to do brunch soon!

I think that covers it. My boss will be back from Holland on Tuesday, so I need to catch up with all that happened in the World Cup in order to have Dutch talking points. :] Peace. Out.

Nice meeting you in person, too. What a crazy movie. :-) Good times.

I imagine the next one will only be more ridiculous.

It was fun talking with you at Cobalt. I think Brian ushered you out as you yelled back "this conversation is not over!"

And indeed it isn't! We'll have to get together to continue the chatfest. :]
