Also, my 1500th post!

Emily was in town this weekend. She didn't make it out to hang out with Shaama, Kathryn, Stephen and I on Friday, when we drank beer and watched Jeopardy! I sucked at it but at least I'm good at drinking and bothering their dog. :]

I woke up early on Saturday, cleaned and did errands, and then undertook my second exploration of my new gym. It's bizarrely laid out but perfectly fine, and even has some super nice features, like a fancy locker room and tanning beds (not that I'll ever use those latter). Then I walked back home, loaded up on carbs and showered, and tried to take the bus to Emily's hotel. Buuuut they weren't running so well, so after waiting for 20 minutes I hoofed it to the train and managed to get there on time somehow. It had been 19 months since we last saw each other! We got over to Cleveland Park, walked around for a bit and sat for coffee while we waited for Shaama to arrive, then had a long dinner and probably irritated everyone around us with loud inappropriate laughter.

Following dinner and a few random phone calls, we went to an Irish pub and sucked down a few pitchers of beer, and Kathryn joined us too. Our server is in law school (as is Kathryn) so she kind of took over our table for a minute talking about summer associate jobs and such; super odd. Anyhow, we had another couple of hours of ridiculous stories and catching up there, including Emily's non-girlfriend's 30th birthday plans that made me choke and cry because I was laughing so hard, then cabbed down to Cobalt for Dyke Night. For whatever reason, Emily had turned the Let's Get Physical song into Let's Get Macaroons, with an impressive set of lyrics, and I think our cab driver was about to drive into a telephone pole just so it would end. :]

Anyhow, after a stop at 7-11, we stood around judging the lack of women in the crowd for a while, then got over it and ran into Brian B. and his friend Keith. Shots of Jameson happened, and Keith showed us his Texas tattoo (he's from Beaumont) on his back; other nuttiness also ensued. Eventually I walked home with Brian, and we somehow ended up watching the Jim and Pam's wedding episode of The Office; I have no clue how that came up, but it also meant we didn't go to sleep until 4:00 or so. Oof.

Indeed. And what did you do this weekend? If you have time to comment, you have time to blog. :P

yeah, I really should try to blog once in awhile. Although this weekend was pretty laid-back and boring for me. went out to Cobalt and Nellie's on friday night, and spent the rest of the weekend in my apartment watching tv and doing laundry (well, and, um, "enjoying" the internet as well...heheheh)

Good times. If you're feeling up to coming out again this Friday, grubbybastard is coming into town and we're doing a pub crawl. I assume he wouldn't mind terribly if I invited you. :P
