Subtheme of this entry: MORE THINGS!

There may not be any good chicken, grits, or biscuits in Michigan, but this red-haired girl is my sweet tea hookup.

In addition to posting this photo of me in a carrel in the library, this post is a smattering of randomness, inspired by my awesomely energetic co-professor from my planning practice class. Every time she presents, she throws out 45 slides of 360-degree views, cross-sections, aerial views, and terrain studies of projects that her firm has designed in a fabulously short amount of time. Then, when class is 2 minutes from ending and you're exhausted by all the fancy stuff, she belts out in that great Spanish accent, "MORE THINGS!" and then flies through 15 more slides of even better photos and plans of even more gorgeous projects that you can never hope to emulate. And when she's finally done, your only reaction is "Wow ... she ... really did have more things." I kind of love her.

First, thanks to everyone who commented on my last GPOYW entry. Your music was all over the place in genre and relative obscurity, and I think that's swell. I'll look into it all just as soon as I get all this crap offa my back.

It started snowing last night and has continued off and on since then. I'm loving it at the moment, mostly because I don't have to drive, and I have big clompy boots to walk through it. I'm sorry that this fun stuff is causing you so much grief, North Carolina folks, but up here we're having fun.

I'm spending most of my free time this week trying to get summer plans organized. I have one internship app about done, two more to fill out by the end of the month, and a respectable list of firms that are asking for resumes and cover letters, which they will surely use as scrap paper read and consider carefully upon receipt. Once I get a bit farther through this, I have to stop to file my taxes, so I can thus do my financial aid paperwork, so I can thus be eligible for loans if I don't get a paid gig (or get an unpaid gig that doesn't allow enough time to also work for food on the side). And I have no clue whether I'll be in Michigan or not, so I have to figure out a place to live if I'm not and also find someone to sublet my place here for 10 weeks. Sigh.

Less than a month until I depart for San Francisco. Not that I'm counting or anything. I think I'm going to a Michigan men's gymnastics meet (vs. Stanford) while I'm there. I mean, why not.

I am not sure what this GPOFYW or whatever is. GPOWYF. GPFYI.

Wrt the previous weeks' GPWTF, I heard some album of Don Chaffer's yesterday at Frannie's and it was pretty choice. I think it might be kinda old.

If you have any inclination to listen to contra music, Lift Ticket is A1.

Other than that, nothing new to recommend. This comment has shaped up to be kind of aimless. Sorry.

Aimless comments are the best! And you have a knack for pointing out that I never explain my obscure acronyms. GPOYW is Gratuitous Picture of Yourself Wednesday but the F could make Gratuitous Picture of Food and Yourself Wednesday, as I had fries just out of the frame in this photo.
