To check the temperature, I could get up and go outside.

But I think I'll just press F12, thanks.

Energy is in short supply lately, as life gets busier and demands more of it. I'm surviving, but I really can't perform at this level forever. First on the chopping block is work, of course, which will be done next Wednesday. A lot about it I will miss terribly, of course, but in another way I desperately need to be done.

Activity this weekend included cooking breakfast for Chadd on Saturday morning, then cleaning the house and finishing the laundry after he went to work. My house may be full of stuff, but damn is it clean. He returned in the afternoon and we took a trip to the Duke Gardens, with a bonus tour of West Campus and especially the Chapel. It was a good reminder that all of this awesome stuff is here, because I hadn't been to the Gardens in a long time. A lot of new stuff in there, including tiny cutout ponds filled with lily pads and surrounded by flagstone. Chadd took multiple photos, and I'm waiting for him to upload them on Facebook so I don't have to continue to try to describe these new features. When he does, I'll post them here! Anyhow, the weather was perfect for a long afternoon of strolling, and then we went home and I cooked dinner: green chile chicken enchilada casserole and pinto beans. The cooking was arduous but well worth it and I still have tons of leftovers. Come over and eat them.

Apropos of nothing else, for the record: I watched To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar with STNMC a week and a half ago, followed by hookah smoking on Chris' patio with he, a guy I don't remember the name of, shadedlight, Josh, Matt and Leland, whom I am going to missss, and it was lovely. And earlier in the week I watched my latest Netflix, Wall Street. I am a fan of naked Charlie Sheen in the 80s, may I just say.

As for all else, I've been working out feverishly again. I feel a lot better when I do, because despite the mega-activity of late, most of it entails me sitting down at work or sitting in the car as I drive or sitting in a restaurant. So. Activity = good. As soon as I finish this entry, I'm going to go running. It might be too hot to run outside, but of course that's just what my Macbook tells me. I have to actually get off my duff and check to know for sure.

1.) Our gym habits seem to parallel each other. I went back in full-force last week and I already feel better.

2.) I've had a strange desire to buy a hookah for the longest time, and I'm not entirely sure why. I've witnessed people enjoying them at the Hookah bar in Madison, but never actually did it. I just think it'd be fun to invite people over for a hookah night. :-)

Hookahs are great, but buying coals and tobacco for them and keeping them maintained can be a pain; just a question of whether you think it's worthwhile. Me, I decided against it so I just mooch off my friends that own them. :]
