All adjectives must rhyme!

Immediately after the last entry, I went off to buy a bag of ice and help Chris host a Lent: The Musical party. It went swimmingly! No drama or carpet stains or puking people, and some folks also dressed up for the theme (it's Rent for Catholics; get it?). I wore orange pants that are probably somewhat bohemian, given their odd tapered cut and origin in Brooklyn. And lots of people came that I hadn't seen in a while, including Rory and Bomie and probably some others. And I met new people, including Joe of Carrboro, who will perhaps become Joe of Durham at some point in the near future.

Today I woke up to a tweet from Bull City Rising about the coming sleet and snow and figured I'd better see what was up with my flights to Chicago on Monday. Lots of RDU-ATLs for Sunday cancelled before noon, so I called Delta and sat on hold while starting the laundry. The nice call center lady had nothing available for me to get out of here earlier, before the snow was forecast to hit, so I stuck with what I had. And less than an hour later, the first leg had been cancelled, so. I went to work and sat on hold there, more comfortable as my office phone has a reliable speaker, and another nice call center lady got me booked to leave at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow (instead of noon) from Greensboro (instead of Raleigh), as I would otherwise not be getting to Chicago until Tuesday, and um. That's not an option.

So tonight I had to cancel my Stir plans with John, Rory, Matt, Leland, and Chris; I had a decent workout at the gym once I navigated slick sidewalks to get there, now am back and have eaten dinner and will finish packing shortly. Then it's off to bed, as I should be up by 3:30 to get on the road. Everybody make the Not Awake Face with me: >.<

I've been monitoring the roads and it looks like NCDOT has everything in hand, so I'm anticipating a slow but uneventful drive to the airport. Currently scheduled to arrive in ORD by 9:03 a.m. but I'm pretty sure I'll be delayed somewhere along the line; I'd be totally fine with arriving by my originally scheduled 4:30 p.m. I'll report back, inevitably. Good night!
