He's from Nebraska! How can I resist Midwesterners!

I just followed some of y'all on my brand new Twitter account. If I missed you, follow me here. I minded a work Twitter account for six weeks, posting at least 4 tweets daily until our grant deadline last week. So, of course I couldn't continue without another account to play with. I'm pathetic.

Today is payday. I'm going out to buy groceries after work, especially stuff I've been putting off buying. Like Tylenol and floss and a new toothbrush. I should also get costume accessories as mentioned in my previous entry, but I'm not sure if I'll have time tonight.

I just donated to the California No on 8 campaign. Normally I don't get involved in ballot referenda in other states, but this one has far-reaching implications, i.e. to ban same-sex marriages in the largest state in the country, where they are already legal. Also, the backers of the proposition haven't hesitated to get out-of-state money and hysteria imported for their cause, so opponents pretty much need to do the same in order to keep from getting buried. And I may someday live in California (assuming their fine and upstanding university system accepts me, that is :D), so this is mega-important to me.

That's all I got.

I just donated to the California No on 8 campaign. Normally I don't get involved in ballot referenda in other states . . . Thank you! In 3 hours, I'm performing a wedding. I hope I still have the right to do so after election day. This is said to be the most hotly contested and expensive ballot measure in the nation this election with money pouring in from all over the country on both sides because people realize the implications nationally. It's not just about Californians. It's a civil rights issue that impacts ALL of us. Because of people like you, we have a very decent chance of defeating it that would have seemed like a long-shot miracle 2 weeks ago.

I read about the wedding you're doing! Very exciting. :)
