But I don't think this is what they meant.

Ah, the everyday adventures I've had since Friday. I must tell you about them. But first, welcome to the most recent additions to my friends list, dearjohnnycash (happy birthday too!), thisamricanlife, and reklys_bishonen! Hang around for a while and I might even post photos.

On Friday I got a haircut after work; I cannot tell you how much I love my hair place. Later John F. and I had dinner and really strong drinks at Sati's and Federal, followed by a failed attempt to party on West Campus. We did, however, get caught in a tropical storm while walking back to my house. /o\

Saturday: As mentioned in the last entry: lazy. I slept late, John and I got breakfast at Honey's while watching our waiter be ambiguously gay with the other male waiter as they mopped up all of the beverages that people kept spilling. Also, country ham wins at breakfast. I also set up the wireless router, finally, and the rest of the day was detailed in the last entry. There's even a photo in it. :P

Sunday was brunch at Guglhupf with Tyler. Goddamn they have fabulous nicoise salads. Also, the entire restaurant is from Ikea, which is where I need to go for a desk, dresser, and coffee table. Later I did a lot more grad school research, then actually worked out at the gym. My gym is turning bizarro: first they randomly closed 9 hours early on Saturday, then when I finally went in, they had boarded up all of the cubbyholes in the weight room. Apparently the solution to gym bags and iPods being stolen from the weight room is to nail giant plywood sheets over the cubbyholes so that everyone piles their crap on the floor instead? Whatever.

Yesterday I woke up mega-early and had the fullest day possible: worked a lot, had a quick dinner and a 90-minute nap, talked to Sam about his trip to San Francisco, and then joined Tyler, Chris, and Jason to go through a couple of bottles of wine at Six Plates. We have contingency plans in place to assist McMaverick with his upcoming retirement, and we're also having a party on Saturday. :D

I finally went to an eye doctor today (first time in three years!) and got an eye exam and contact lens fitting. My doctor is fabulous and wasn't too horrified at my extended absence from the grips of an optometrist. She gave me new eyes that I'm trying out for a week. On the way out, the payment dude asked for a $25 copay (a great deal, considering the full visit would have been $144) and I handed over my debit card. He gave it back with a receipt that I later looked at and realized was for $2.50. Heh. He called me really apologetically tonight and asked if I could bring my card back during my follow-up appointment to get that corrected.

And then there was work. We're running on 100%, and it's mostly really fun. Next entry will be about that, but I can't guarantee when that will be. Because, y'know, I have to actually go there tomorrow.

Indeed. I'm hoping they'll mistakenly offer me 99-cent contact lenses when I go back next week. :D
