Was this your idea, David Cutcliffe?

Why do you hate the idea of me being physically fit?

The first half of today was mega-lazy, and the second half has been quite productive. I came to campus this evening intending to work out (finally renewed my gym membership yesterday), and of course the entire gym was closed when I arrived at 7:30. With signs plastered to the doors saying, "Wilson Center will close at 1 p.m today." Super helpful for those of us who don't check the front door of the gym before planning our days. I'm not sure if this had to do with the football game going on behind the gym, but I have my suspicions.

In any case, I walked all the way back to my car (parking is bad on gameday), swapped the gym bag for my laptop bag and came to the library to continue grad school app preparation stuff. I'm in a group study room in this thing in the library basement, and it's unbelievable. A photo:

The entire wall behind me is a whiteboard, but sadly there are no markers. The TV can do projection from your laptop (but I didn't bring a Dongle! D:), and so on. I can definitely stand to draft personal statements, figure out which professors I'll ask to write letters, read papers written by interesting faculty at potential schools, and narrow down my long list of potential schools if I do it in here. I'll bring my own dry-erase markers and Diet Coke. And to think this used to be a gloomy maze of stacks where disaffected undergrads would carve naughty words in the study carrels. Well, it's still a maze, but at least it's a very pleasant one. Oh, and the lights in the room just turned off. Apparently I'm not moving enough for the sensors. *dances a bit*

I was pretty productive tonight with these surroundings and a great playlist on my iPod (title: "Jonothon is sprinkled in beef fat"), so I can live with not getting to the gym. Tomorrow I'll try to write about other stuff of the last few days, including the lazy part of Saturday. For now, I need to get home. Brunch with Tyler tomorrow at 10:30, and I'm going to try to work out before that.

And let the record show that I skimmed this entry and landed on "beef fat."

It's not all that special; just lots of mashups, pop, and Missy Elliott. The name is the best part, stemming from a scrolling marquee comment that two of my friends left on this LJ years ago. :)

Where is this room?

And...who is Tyler?

And what is this list of potential schools?

Don't move to Boston!

Perkins basement.

Tyler is a graphic designer at IBM.

I'm still working on it, but I'll reveal it here soon.

Why not? I know their winter is 10 times as long as ours, but I still <3 Boston.
