She still won't return my calls, though.

I watched the tail end of Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC tonight; <3 her. John and I are part of her fan club, and our secret handshake is the terrorist knuckles. Okay, I'm gonna stop obsessing about her now and talk about the weekend (with bonus Monday highlights!). Far too much happened for me to type in here, so I'm bulleting the basics:

-Packed all my loose stuff on Friday night and Saturday morning. I own too much paper.
-Saturday brunch at Watts Grocery with Sam.
-I ran into my next door neighbor in the hallway and told him I was moving out. He asked where my new place was, and when I told him, he told me to buy a gun. Seriously. It was so random I could barely contain my giggling. He wrote it down on a scrap of paper and said it would be the best $300 investment I'd ever made. For the record, he recommends an Remington 870 shotgun with an 18" barrel. Oh, and 12 gauge double-aught buckshot, of course. I am saving this scrap of paper forever.
-Sam, Caroline, and her friend Rachel helped me transport everything I packed to the new house. I bought them beer and garlic fries at The Federal in appreciation. Then we moseyed down the street for a pitcher of margaritas and Mexican food at Torero's.
-Went to Legends on Saturday night, probably shouldn't have. My liver is 75% Svedka.
-Sunday brunch at Vin with Sam, Adam, and Rachel. I'll be 75% cheese grits before long. I ordered the "Southern Style" eggs benedict, which was listed as "Redneck Benny" on the check. I officially reserve that as my drag name.
-Bought curtains and blinds for my house. I'm happy with them, just have to find time to install them.
-Went to John's house with Jason to pregame for Stir. He has a massive TV and we had an amazing time playing Wii MarioKart on it.
-Stir wasn't so good last night; way too sparse, and it was held in the crappy 2nd floor bar because the 1st floor is "being renovated." We had way more fun stumbling back to John's house (literally; I stubbed my toe on a broken sidewalk and it's purple now) for more fun with the TV.
-Work was fine today; I successfully advanced a very challenging project, and will breathe a sigh of relief and actually be proud of myself if I can get it out the door tomorrow.
-Had dinner with Chase and J.Barnes at Elmo's tonight. As a result, I know more about the Chapel Choir than I ever thought I would.

I have the old apartment for seven more days; hopefully I'll have internets and my bed and couch over at the new place by then.

lol ... I suppose for lots of peoploe, being a North Carolinian without a gun is almost as unconscionable as being a Montanan without a gun. :)

I guess so. :) And I love that he recommends giant shotguns for beginners; handguns are for wusses, apparently.

Well, with a giant shotgun you're bound to hit something. no matter how you aim.
