"Skankageddon" has been a word for over two years and I just used it for the first time.

I'm falling behind in this popular culture thing!

Thursday links:

-Wordlustitude. A brilliant creation, and much more robust than Urban Dictionary as the sources (including Wonkette, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, Nip/Tuck episodes, and blog commenters around the internets) are actually cited. My new goal for this year is to call John McCain every word in that blog by Election Day.

-I love Santa Fe, but sometimes it seems like the weirdest town on Earth.

Other stuff:

-I never wrote about The Dark Knight. I saw it a week ago with Secret Thursday Movie Night Club. And yes, I too think Christian Bale sounded like a winded Godfather-era Marlon Brando. For someone who doesn't know shit about the Batman story, I did like it; yay Heath Ledger and Gary Oldman. But I of course have some gripes about it. Maggie Gyllenhaal just shouldn't have been in this thing at all; as Chris said, she was playing her usual Slumpy Girl #2. But at least they had the sense not to magically bring her character back (not yet, anyway). And Gotham was ... Chicago. I feel like it was not intended to be that way, skyscraper porn notwithstanding, but when you add corrupt cops, random mafia shenanigans, and sprinkle trust fund babies throughout, you have created Chicago. And by the way, can I just say that the scenes with the two boats were so dumb? First, how could the people on the boats trust that the Joker had really wired the buttons the way he said, when he spent the rest of his time misleading everyone to wreak havoc? And the whole thing was a PRISONER'S DILEMMA. NO. Finally, a srs question: where was Cillian Murphy in this movie??

-Yesterday I went out to dinner at Bombay Grille with aforementioned Club; true to our name, we watched no movie and had dinner on Wednesday. :P The music was Benny Lava worthy, and we talked about airlines, Chase and Meredith's upcoming trip to their homeland (South Carolina), and Caleb's recent time in Africa. Following that we went to Chase's house for a while to have wine and fawn over his food dehydrator.

-I've been running a lot. As soon as my stoopy bonus comes, I'm getting new running shoes. And probably some running shorts too. Woo?

-Welcome to the newest additions to my friends list, ascendant, dumblondum, and yourdannybear!
