Still summer! Wooo!

Driving by Civic Plaza, Albuquerque

Last night's run with Josh, Christina, and Matt was great. We ran from Central Campus down to Campus Dr., through West Campus and then rejoined Campus Dr. and ran to East Campus, then walked back via Main St. while chatting about random stuff. It almost felt too enjoyable to be exercise, so hopefully we will do it again. I then came home, had dinner and a shower, and studied GRE math for a bit before joining Emily at Sirens for her last drink and game of Erotic Photo Hunt there. The vodka gimlet was good, but as we discussed, it felt like Amateur Hour; the atmosphere was no fun at all (yes, bar owners, I really want all three of you hovering over me as I drink) and I think that bar will be gone in a few months if they can't do better than this.

This morning I got up and just wasn't hungry. Which is unusual for me, but I took it in stride, had a bowl of raisin bran (which is about 1/3 of the usual calories I usually eat for weekend brunch), and went down to the pool with my GRE books. It was great tanning weather for about half an hour, and then a storm came up with almost no warning. Suddenly a huge wind gust blew a row of deck chairs almost all the way into the pool, which was full of terrified girls trying to shield themselves, then it immediately started raining. I fled to my apartment, the storm completely cleared up within an hour, and so I went back out. I spent the rest of the afternoon down there, and it was peaceful except for groups of new Fuqua students running around with cameras who kept coming up and asking everyone, "Are you a second year MBA student?" What is it about scavenger hunts that makes folks think they have license to be annoying? Bah.

But it was still a nice atmosphere to study and then read GQ, and before I came back up I talked to Jon Allen; we are going to the mall for dinner and tax-free shopping in a little bit. I'm really packing in the summer activities; next on my list is to make old khakis into shorts. *menaces my closet with scissors*
