Except for a few gay proms, anyway.

My life in the past few months has sort of resembled the Catholic calendar, which I actively followed for the first 18 years of my life and sort of casually for the next three. Last fall I had a busy travel period that was sort of akin to Lent and Holy Week, with all of the commitments to be in various places wearing nice clothing. January and February were also quite busy, but with two major trips and the rest of the time spent preparing for them and then sorting out their madness later, maybe like an Easter Season, or Advent and Christmas.

I've been off of work since last Wednesday (and did take a short trip, which you can read about here if you missed it) and tomorrow is my first day back. It sort of feels like returning to Ordinary Time (with the missallette that's just as thick as the Holy Week and Easter edition but it covers the next three months!), feeling kind of wistful that the holidays are over but glad for a little more routine and quiet. For the next couple of months we will just be planning for next year and being regular folks, which is admittedly nice. The next round of travel for me won't come until late May at the earliest, and might end up being June. So, I'm in town for a while if you want to hang out!
