I'm alive, and very well.

mood: silly3-course breakfast
music: And Welsh Corgis!

Though at a slightly different elevation this week.

I know that I kind of left you all hanging when I mentioned in my last entry that I was leaving for an architectural pilgrimage on Wednesday. Well, we turned it into a mini-vacation, and are sitting in a fabulous bed and breakfast in Asheville, North Carolina right now. :)

We're about to check out and do a little shopping and then hiking, but I wanted to say that I'm alive. I took a break from e-mail and the internets in general and it was very nice. I don't at all believe the folks that are making noise about how you can't really ever be tuned out from your e-mail and the working world; if you truly want to, it's extremely easy. But I'll be back to Durham this weekend and will throw a write-up and some photos up here.

And in case you were wondering, my architectural pilgrimage was just a visit to a little house in the woods. :D More about that soon.

Nope, didn't encounter any Marshas, but I can see the appeal; it's a cool place.

Ah, if you'd told me earlier, I could have stolen one from the B&B for you. It was named Ida Claire. :D

I LOVE ASHEVILLE! My other interns and I are obsessed, it's ridiculous. Best town in the state, y'all.

Asheville! is a stomping ground of mine, lots of family, visits, etc, and I might end up living there in a few years

I've never been into biltmore, but I have canoed past it. I bet it is wonderful and I'm missing out

I've tuned out from blogging. a little

you are so wise to do all the traveling you seem to do

I bet it'd be a great place to live!

I feel restless if I don't travel at least once in a while, stemming from childhood when my parents were really not into traveling and I felt claustrophobic staying in the same place all the time (Mom is now nearing retirement and doing way more traveling than she used to!)
