Everyone go vote right now! Or when your polling places open. Voting is great, even though 90% of us live in non-competitive House districts. I filled out my New Mexico absentee ballot a couple of weeks ago and am happy to be done with it; I voted for all four bonds and all four constitutional amendments. I'm so liberal! Heh. Actually the constitutional amendments were mainly to take archaic sections out of the state constution, like the part that didn't allow Asians to own property.

Also, I spent the last 90 minutes filling out the Washington Post's Midterm Madness thing. Yes, I chose winners for all 435 House races; and it looks to me like the Democrats will gain about 22 seats, so enough to take that house. The Senate, not so much. I predict a 51-49 Republican majority there (actually a 51-47-2, as New England shall bring us Independents Bernie Sanders and Joe Lieberman, but they count as Democrats when they caucus with them). So, in short, Congress is gonna fight a whole lot the next two years. But that's what they're supposed to do. And the House Democratic leaders are gonna be fabulous! Pelosi-Frank-Waxman-Rangel minimum wage hike and birth control orgy! Harry Reid can come too so he doesn't feel left out. Seriously, it should be interesting to see some of the ooooold Democrats chair the committees, like Dingell and Waxman.

Another thing I am excited about is college basketball. Sadly, I have no television so I'm going to try to mooch off of others who do. Especially in March. I will bake you things if you let me live in your house for the NCAA tournament.

Edited to add: This is my 900th LJ entry! I'm quite pleased that I still use it so much after almost 5 years. I have to keep a work blog now, and it's not nearly as fun as this one. And that one only has 3 entries thus far; it'll probably never get more than 50 or so. This one, however, I plan to continue to stuff with memes and pointless blathering for a long time to come.
