It's too hot to do anything more strenuous.

May I recommend a boozy milkshake with your live show.

What's your concert history?

First concert? Let's just get the embarrassment out of the way straight off: Jessica Simpson and 98 Degrees (2001)
Last concert? Not remembering offhand ... Basement Jaxx Live, maybe?
Next concert? Beth Ditto on July 12th! Been waiting a long time to see her live.
Best concert? Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Cat's Cradle in November 2003. Just out of control amazing, and nothing has come close since. But I will give honorable mention to Robyn and Royksopp at Wolf Trap (2013).
Worst Concert? Some of the LDOCs ended up being awful. I remember not being able to really hear Girl Talk over the drunken hordes. Also, totally not the performers' fault, but I got tickets to see Salt N Pepa without realizing it was the same day as Lajuan's giant 40th birthday barbecue, plus I was having drama with my fellow ticketgoers and never made it there. :(
Who have you seen most? Robyn. During the Body Talk era we were completely obsessed with her, and for good reason. Our friend group may have bought her a new tour bus with all those tickets.
Best concert venue? 9:30 Club is so worth the hype. It feels big (because there are multiple places to watch the same show, on two levels) and small (~1,200 capacity) at the same time. Plus their staff are tops! I also am partial to the Coffeehouse from undergrad where I spent so much time I eventually got a job there. In addition to being a super unique venue (this photo is of the milkshake machine), I saw great acts come through (VHS or Beta, Erie Choir, The Rosebuds, more I don't remember/didn't blog about) while getting paid to be there!
Worst concert venue? The Blind Pig. Never had an actually good experience there. I wish I could find Billy's photos of Ang taking shots in the basement bar one of the times we were there, because her wincing in that dank space we had to go to because a show was yet again over capacity captures the experience perfectly.
Who have you not seen but want to? Long and varied list: Peaches, Lorde, Christine and the Queens, Janet Jackson, Kylie Minogue (yes, rockingthemike, I am officially envious), Garbage, Foo Fighters, The National. In theory I will have opportunities to see most of them in the next year or two. Plus I see that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are doing a show in November, and I miiiiight want to see them a second time as my birthday present.

could always hop over to the uk in december to see kylie... rumor has it her residency at the royal albert hall is supposed to be extended to four nights (which would increase my odds of seeing her).

Reading that you went to Jessica Simpson/98* as your first concert, I feel as if we would have been best friends growing up! lol

My music tastes were pretty indiscriminate as a teenager. If it was on MTV, I liked it.
