Your pile of cookies is blocking my route to the gym.

Traditionally my parents always kept our Christmas tree and other decorations up until exactly January 6th, Three Kings' Day. I have more or less adhered to that schedule just by habit since being out on my own, though we are definitely not religious at all. But yesterday was really nutty at work, then I was scheduled to meet Blake at Duplex. So our tree is still up, and I haven't put my unwrapped gifts in their ultimate destinations either. B got me new shoes, his parents got me two button down shirts, my brother got us coffee thermos mugs and chili bowls, and the work Christmas gift exchange yielded me a new exercise ball. I did a fair amount of cleaning today, including washing the bathroom rug and all the sheets, putting those back where they go, and emptying the dishwasher. So Tree and Gifts are staying where they are one more day.

On the topic of Duplex, Blake and I had soups and salads for dinner last night, then moved to the bar to yak with Jessie. Elliott also ran in to announce that he had served Angela Bassett at Open City, and he had photos to prove it; I am so jealous! Matty also came by, and Emmett was there per always, a very Cheers kind of evening. Blake's holiday travels sounded pretty intense, including their New Years' Eve in Austin.

A tiny bit of snow fell this afternoon, probably not even an inch here in the city. But it has been super cold, so we haven't gone anywhere. I'm using the Daniel Craig in the ocean icon to inspire warmer thoughts. Tomorrow I'll be back to the gym, regardless of the temps.
