Good thing digestive aids are buy one, get one free tomorrow.

In better news from the last entry, B has recovered from his ice fall and is back in the kitchen. So we've been eating well. I can cook just fine, but my efforts never approach these masterpieces. This is dating a Kitchen Overachiever.

Vaca frita, rice and beans, and a salad. He even made the Ranch dressing.

Assorted breakfast!

Our V Day dinner ribeyes!

When we went to Whole Foods on Saturday to buy the steaks, they were in fact advertising the sale in the subject line. We did partake so as to get lasagna ingredients for later. But I just don't imagine discounted cheese as being a good date night idea.

Completed dinner, with mashed cauliflower, garlic bread, and French onion soup.

We had dinner relatively early, and were on the couch watching Saved! when Elliott called to announce he and Stu got engaged! So we managed to shake off the food coma, buy some prosecco, and go to their house to celebrate. Rich was also there, just back from Mexico. We had a grand time playing Dutch Blitz and going to 7-Eleven repeatedly for cigarettes and batteries. By the time we headed home, it was snowing steadily and I'm glad our Uber made it down the hill in one piece.

As an aside, I hadn't seen Saved! in over ten years, and it is still so brilliant. Mary-Louise Parker was the perfect absentminded mom, and I also learned that the actress that played Cassandra is Susan Sarandon's daughter. Which makes it probably forgivable that Susan totally stole Cassandra's prom look for the SAG Awards this year.

Today: still snowing! The city appeared to mobilize properly so our local streets at least appear clear from the windows. I'm off work and B goes in at 2. So until then, we are watching the snow continue to fall and secretly hoping I get tomorrow off as well. I'll go to the gym to start working off the above masterpieces, too.

Do it! I don't know if Saved! is on Netflix/Hulu/etc., we just happened upon it on a random channel.

They were as lovely as they look. And a rare treat, because the grocery bill was $$$.
