That's probably unhealthy.

Palm tree derps

I decided a couple of weeks ago to take today and Monday off of work, so that I can be better prepared for the craziness that is Pride Weekend and then recover afterward. Earlier this afternoon Andrew and I spent almost two hours at Party City, getting decorations and supplies for his Pride Party tomorrow. Above is one of my favorite finds. There was a fair amount of loud cursing, followed by sheepishly realizing we were surrounded by children. Good times. Then we had lunch at Carlyle, with a lot of servers and surprisingly tasty salads and came back to the city.

I fit in a short leg workout at the gym, then showered and went to the liquor store. There were lots of dudes roaming around the aisles, and the cashier asked me if I was "old enough to have a drink." I love the carding-but-not-really-carding procedure that is Continental Wine and Liquor. Now Brian and I are heading to Melisa's apartment to pregame, then the huge Opening Party. Then tomorrow morning I help Andrew set up the party, then that occurs, followed by the parade. And Sunday I will be at the Pride Festival with doctored 7-11 Slurpee in hand, as is our tradition. Talk to y'all on Monday if I survive, LJ.

BTW: I link to it most years, but I still think Pride is an important and positive and beneficial event, and this is why.

Thanks for linking to your previous post. That was good for me to read, and helped contradict my stereotype of the entire South as homophobic.

Oh, and the doctored Slurpee sounds awesome. Have a great Pride Weekend!

Thanks!

Much of the South is progressive, mostly limited to larger cities and college towns, but I can see the possibility of all of it improving incrementally.
