Washing out weekend stains.

Welcome to my Monday evening.

The weekend was pretty damn fantastic. I stayed in on Friday evening after the work week and some time at the office gym that afternoon had tired me out, and caught up on lots of sleep. You can't truly "catch up" on several days of sleep deficits all at once, sadly, but it helped.

On Saturday I got plenty of errands done in the blazing heat, then had dinner with Joe Z. to catch up on his epic California vacation with Jason. I'm way jealous of all they were able to do, but fortunately I have some fall travel coming up (not to the West Coast, sadly). After we stuffed ourselves with DC Noodles we headed toward the last ever Shift and ran into Trey on the way, with a minute of awkwardness trying to introduce them before realizing they already "knew" each other. Heh. We then walked right by to get Joe to an ATM and ran into one of his old work friends on the way toward Conn Ave. The summer of circumstance! We did get back to Cobalt just after 11 and I met some other folks, drank and went a little nuts on the dancing with Joe G. We made sure to do it justice because it was the last one. I stumbled home after 3:00 and didn't sleep enough, but that's the running theme of this summer.

Sunday was a little more relaxed; I went to Potbelly to soak up the remnants of the booze and got a couple of job applications in the hopper. Then I met Brian and we went to Mikey's going away party, which was fun but rather bittersweet. We closed that out (at 6:30 p.m., so not an impressive feat) and Clarke then drove us, with the party props and all, to Brett A.'s birthday bash in Mount Pleasant. Following that we had a brief stop at Nellie's where I saw Gordon and Leet, then we had some Thai in a very quiet Bua and headed home. As I said on Tumblr, it was too nice a weekend to blog about, so it had to come to laundry time for me to actually write this.

I wish I could head back there! Sadly I do not have the funds to go to San Francisco until probably next year.
