And I'll write blog entries for you in return.

Lots going on. I woke up at 11 this morning and went running for the second time in two days. Felt good and it's easier than I expected to run through downtown streets. However, I think I need to start monitoring downtown events like susandennis does in Seattle because I had to make a lengthy detour around the National Capital Barbecue Battle* which had closed several blocks of Penn Ave. (and is apparently continuing tomorrow). It explains why the area smelled more like smoked meats than usual, at least.

I'm currently at home between two birthday celebrations; earlier I went to Stoney's for Elliott's birthday lunch with Pat, Brett, Kevin, Jason, and Elliott. I had an enormous salad and a cocktail, and it rained shots for the occasion. Also there were many ridiculous stories. Unfortunately, one of them was that Pat's car was broken into last night. Later I'm headed to Larry's Lounge for Jonathan H.'s birthday celebration and then Shift is later tonight.

On the question of how I'm paying for all of these drinks, I had two job interviews last week: one on Monday with a surprisingly low salary that I could never live on so I'm withdrawing my application, and one on Tuesday that has no $ figure attached to it yet, but which is looking like I might get an offer. I talked to the hiring manager again on Friday and she said a decision should be coming early next week so y'all give me some good juju. Both organizations are really exciting and in great locations, and the one that I'm pursuing would be a lot of super interesting work. I'll keep offering updates.

Also, Tyler is coming into town for a week around July 4th and I'm giving the DC architecture tour to him. Woooo.

* The website claims they are hosting the National Pork Championship. It doesn't get more exciting than that.

I'm going to make much of it up as I go along, as it's mostly my favorite buildings that weren't constructed by the federal government.
