Week Four.

I had a grand time over the weekend with a number of new and already acquainted people, many LJ-related. On Thursday randomcha was in town and we had dinner and dranks while catching up. It would make sense that he was in town for ALA because he works for ALA, yet I didn't know that prior to this meetup, heh. And his hotel was super fancy. Also that day, I stalked grubbybastard on my way home for lunch. Or at least I tried to, until he called and began stalking me in Dupont Circle because I had no clue where he was despite being within meters. Hah.

On Friday Brian and I did a fair amount of day drinking starting around 4:00 at my house, then went back into town and I met up with grubbybastard, ascendant, ashfault76, and friends for a pub crawlish event. I add the -ish because I was late and thus only joined for the Mova* and Cobalt stages. But! That was a grand time of madness and I'm glad I went, until my six hours of drinking caught up with me and I had to go home, running into a returning Brian on the way out. This is why I should never drink Red Bull with booze, even if I'm feeling in need of a second wind. With luck I'll be able to hang out with y'all in a less frenetic environment soon, and Rice Rice Baby will just have to come back when it's not 1000 degrees.

Saturday was shorter, but I worked out, cut my hair, spent way too much time getting ready (this new icon is from that extended primping session), and then spent an hour or so at Shift. By then I was running out of energy (heat doubtless not helping), but Brian was remarkably amenable to my lameness, haha. I don't think I can handle another weekend like that for a while but I'm glad it happened. The last couple of days have alternated between unstoppable grinning and the sad drudgery of being back at work.

*They get bonus points for having Silly Bandz on the bar.

By "cut my hair" do you mean you did your own? If so, I'm impressed! I'm having to learn that Hair Cuttery isn't always going to do it for me. I've had some hair issues lately.

Glad you're having such a nice time in DC. :)

yay, glad you had a good time. I enjoyed myself immensely as well.

And what's been causing the unstoppable grinning this week?

Nothing in particular, just the nonstop events that comprised this entry. :]

It was fun. If a bit too humid.

Too bad you're gone, because today it's 79 degrees and very not humid. :]
