Everyone on Earth is graduating, and Momma needs something nice.

Life has been going on as usual around here, though I haven't sat down to write much about it recently. Here's an update:

--I got my $600 stimulus via direct deposit yesterday. After work I'm going to transfer most of it into my credit union account so I can has some interest. The rest will be devoted to continuing to pay off my credit card debt, woo. Thanks, U.S. Treasury?

--Sam and I are still looking for a place to live in Chapel Hill for the next year. The yellow house in his neighborhood continues to be an option, as are a couple of other houses we've peeped in various CH/Carrboro neighborhoods. This weekend shall feature further decisions on what to rent.

--It's graduation weekend at work. The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies is having its graduation reception next door right now; I might go over there to snark up some hors d'oeuvres and say hay. I have to make time to see Jeremy, Snapper, Brent, Alex H., and my other favorites sometime, particularly those who are leaving the Triangle. I'm hopeful that some of them will be at Betsy and Brian's birthday party on Saturday.

--Last night Sam, Emily and I had dinner at Outback. Steak is amazing, but our waiter was kind of not. He ... told a lot of stories about the pins he was wearing. It was a good dinner nevertheless, and I ate leftover steak, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms (with a real plate and knife!) at my desk for lunch today. I managed to get ketchup and/or steak juice on: myself, the newspaper, my desk, and some balance sheets that were nearby, but it was still way worth it. After dinner, Michael, Adam, and Jason came over and we drank and talked about Tuesday's primary election. We <3 Jim Neal even though he was totally destroyed in the U.S. Senate race. Now we can focus our energies on defeating Doo-Liddy, I guess? Other evening highlights included Sam putting my iPod's songs back on to my computer (I might mail my broken tech gadgets to him in Boston all summer for quick fixing :D) and playing Grass with Sam, Michael and Jason. We didn't go to bed until about 3:30. >.<

--Today I've been brainstorming and researching for Big Disorganized Foundation; we are having an internal conference call to refine our plan of attack on Monday, and then we talk to Reliable Foundation Officer on Wednesday. My contributions today could be very useful, or they could be completely discarded; we'll see what happens. I had a nice interlude when I went with Sam to Chipotle; I watched him eat lunch and we chatted about nothing in particular. Then he drove me to West Campus to get the mail, gave me some free GRE books he'd picked up for me, and went back to Chapel Hill.

That's really it. I need to get back to researching business schools. *yawn*

I was eating ketchup with steak, only because there is no steak sauce at work (or ketchup either; I brought my own). At Outback we got steak sauce at the table.

I'm sort of enjoying house shopping, but right now I mostly want it to be over. :\
