Likely produced by Marc Summers.

I am at Emily's house right now, giving food and attention to the cats and watching random TV. Marc Summers' Food Network shows are shockingly bad yet I can't stop watching them. (Except Dinner: Impossible! That shit is an event planner's dream! :D)

Anyway, I brought my laptop so that I can continue doing work research. I'm trying to send an announcement of our grant competition to as many people as possible, and we have nifty photos of Second Life avatars and SHARE alums in Japan and 2-year olds listening to iPods to go with our e-mail announcements. So someone mentioned that I should send announcements to graduate students, as they are usually in need of research fundz, and three weeks later I am still e-mailing Graduate Student Governments.

I've seen 300-some university websites in the process (because NAGPS sucks and doesn't have a members' list online, but I digress), and I have seen some crappy webpages. But St. Louis University is first on the fail train because their A-Z Index isn't in alphabetical order. Look. Yes, all the G links are listed under G, but beyond that there is no organization. They just appear in random order! WTF. Also, random names and dates appear in there. Can anyone add anything to this list? The Jesuits would choke some bitches if they knew about this.

Anyway, today. Sam woke up earlier than I did and did some homework, then he left, I packed a lunch and walked to work. I worked on this magical Tell Grad Students We Have Money for Them project and set up meetings for tomorrow, then spent most of the afternoon trying to get two forms signed. Machines failed and people weren't where they were supposed to be, but our payroll administrator and I appeared to be on the right track until we needed to make copies and everyone at Duke applying for a Fulbright was clogging the copiers (the deadline was today, and the students submit applications across the hall from her office.) I'm rooting for David the Robertson Scholar. And Jeremy. And that gay 2L that I can't remember the name of. But no one else gets one, because they didn't let me make copies. :(

After dealing with that bureaucracy and seeing Robin G., who just took my old job and now sits in my old office, I took the bus home, ate dinner, and watched The Terminal, my latest Netflix. I'm a hopeless aviation nerd.

Okay, now I've got college football in the background, and for me that goes something like this: "Go go Colorado, you can do it--OMG what happened to Bobby Bowden? Girl, you is HAGGARD."

Go Fulbright go!

Btw I'm 90% sure I will be coming down this weekend. Anything you would like me to bring down from VA? Lotto tickets? VA wine? Bumper-to-bumper traffic?

Excellent. We have our own lottery now, not that I'll ever play it. :)

I think I am set on goods from VA, so just bring yourself!

Good! A very creative premise for a movie, and Tom Hanks was awesome.

You already watched boogie nights and moved onto the terminal? I was totally still preparing myself to get through boogie nights with you. Oh well.

Sorry, I didn't know you were still interested. :( Let's compare our queues when we get together and see what we should watch.
