I was unaware of this until a few minutes ago, but New Mexico's Senate delegation owns the Energy & Natural Resources Committee. Chair and ranking member. Take that, other states. Uh, yes. I suppose that also means you can blame us if this new bill doesn't work out.

I've been reading many newspapers and news websites today, and am brimming with random opinions. Such as that Georgetown Law Center's formation of a quad is cool! Yay that they wrested a street away from the city of Washington to convert. Also, one of Hillary Clinton's potential rivals in her Senate re-election bid, Jeanine Pirro, is filled with fightin' words ... but is lame and hypocritical because she appears to forget to mention what she plans to do full-time that she claims Hillary only does part-time, which is represent New Yorkers. Too much focus on why your opponent is bad leaves too little room for you to say why you're good. But the New York Times also appears to hate her, so that can't be helping her. Perhaps she should mention that she was on People magazine's Most Beautiful list, to enlist the support of quite a different constituency.

In news of my life, I am adjusting quite well to work ... I know pretty much everyone's names, and am learning regular procedures well, and can make lots of easy banter with several choice colleagues. I also occasionally revel slightly in being the secretary to someone who has a lot of authority, because everyone has to accomodate her schedule. Not that I'm being arrogant or bitchy ... it's just interesting. And I met one amazingly hot and unbelievably intelligent gay man that works for an associated office ... but he's taken. I'm meeting his partner tomorrow, which shall be interesting.

Aaaand an interaction I overheard between old men at the gym:

Man #1: "How's retirement?"
Man #2: "Well ... I haven't quite figured it out yet."

New York synopses and pictures to be posted by this weekend.

We have like two oil wells.

And the governor was the Secretary of Energy for like eight months.

Other than that we know 24 ways to burn a log for fuel. I'll show you sometime.
